My name is Sara Anne Bane, and my love is volleyball. I am a very dedicated athlete who is excited at the opportunity of playing volleyball at the college level. I have played volleyball at the high school level for the past five years. I have played high school volleyball for the Carolina Forest High School Lady Panthers and plan to play for them my senior year (2011-2012) also. I am a 5’11” middle hitter/blocker (who also plays back row) and in my high school career I have helped lead my team to two 4A-6 region titles. I have played club volleyball for Rivertown for one year and two years for Grand Strand Juniors. Last year while playing on Grand Strand Juniors 16’s team, I helped my team win the orange division at the AAU tournament in Orlando. I am currently playing for the Grand Strand Juniors’ 17’s National team.
If you ask me why I love volleyball I may not be able to explain to you the passion I have for it, but I could show you. When I’m out there on the court it’s just me and my team striving for the same goal. Not only to win, but to have fun and enjoy something we all love doing.
I am truly a hard worker, and I will push myself to do whatever it takes to help my team win. Every time I step on the court I try to be the best player and teammate I can be. The thought of playing in college excites me; to play with other girls that have the same love for volleyball as I do is worth everything. I can not imagine my future without volleyball in it.
My education is also very important to me. I have worked hard for the past eleven years of school in hopes of fulfilling my desire of pursuing a degree in communications. I am looking for a school that will allow me to fulfill both my volleyball and education dreams.
